Ygranka - La danse du beau frère[Folk/Fusion]

These five musicians, coming from various musical horizons, propose an original fusion between Balkan music, improvisation and contemporary music. Ygranka’s compositions and reinterpretations of the traditional repertoire invite people to dance and travel, when hearing Serbian kolos playing over drum&bass, uneven grooves with an oriental touch, or even some tunes with colourful accents, all of this being stressed by an unusual rhythm section (accordion, euphonium, drums) and a melody section which is rich in snares (trumpet/bugle, sax, flute, ney, clarinette). On stage, Ygranka’s meandering melodies and its generosity intoxicate the public, which is carried away into a huge fair (igranka in Serbian). Their energy and pleasure to play together on stage can be found intact on their first album “La danse du beau-frère" (The brother-in-law’s dance - released in august 2008).
