Australia. Songs of the Aborigenes and Music of Papua, New Guinea




Field recordings of Aborigines of Australia and Papua, New Guinea, by Wolfgang Laade, Professor of Ethnomusicology at the Univeristy of Zurich. Includes rare ceremonial and secular music of 2 regions: Cape York Peninsula and Elcho Island, Arnhem Land. The Arnhem Land material consists of didgeridoo solo and vocal reproductions as well as Gupapuyngu and Djapu song material, with didgeridoo accompaniment.
