Mississippi Sheiks - Stop and Listen (2006) [EEUU]
Lo dijo el padre del blues electrico, Muddy Waters:
"I knowed the Mississippi Sheiks. Yessir. Walked ten
miles to see them play. They was high-time...makin'
them good records, man." - Muddy Waters
"Yo conoci a los Mississippi Sheiks. Camine 10 millas para verlos tocar. Fue un gran tiempo...haciendo sus buenos discos..."
De wikipedia en ingles: The Mississippi Sheiks were a popular and influential guitar and fiddle group of the 1930s. They were notable mostly for playing country blues but were adept at many styles of United States popular music of the time, and their records were bought by both black and white audiences.
In 2004, they were inducted in the Mississippi Musicians Hall of Fame. Their 1930 blues single "Sitting on Top of the World" was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2008.[1]
On October 20, 2009, Black Hen Music released a tribute album to the Mississippi Sheiks. The album's seventeen artists include Bruce Cockburn, Bill Frisell, The Carolina Chocolate Drops, Geoff Muldaur, Kelly Joe Phelps and John Hammond.
